Installing Duraspark in a 351C

I am getting ready to change my ignition system from the original points system to a duraspark ignition out of a 351M.

I am installing a msd blaster 2 coil with the stock module and distributor out of the M.

Am I correct that it is just a simple switch over? And if so, what should the timing be set at?

I have a <a href="http://motorhaven.autoanything.com/"><a href="http://motorhaven.autoanything.com/">351c </a></a>2v .

Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated

Swapping distributors? Easy enough transfering the module and harness, but the distributor from the <a href="http://www.motorhaven.com/">351m </a>won't work ( I believe), I think you need to obtain one from a 460, they are interchangeable between <a href="http://www.motorhaven.com/">351c </a>and 460's.

351C, 351M, 400, 429, <a href="http://www.motorhaven.com/">460 </a>all use the same distributor. 351 W, will also work if you change to a <a href="http://www.motorhaven.com/">460 </a>drive gear.

The <a href="http://www.motorhaven.com/">351m </a>distributor will work but the mid to late '70s had tempermental control modules. The advance curve is slow for emissions purposes.

An easier way would be a Pertronix conversion.
