well last time we did my wheel bearings we didnt tighten them up all the way so were going to have to go back and tighten them up. but when we did the first time we bent the wheel retainer key and it broke. it had enough left to where we could still use it but this time were wanting to replace it. i talked to a guy at autozone that has the same truck as me and had the same problem i did. he said you can only get it from the dealer so today when i got home i called up the dealer to see about one and they said i can only buy it in a service pack? he said its about $108 and has all the snap rings and stuff to replace the ones i have now. anyone have any experience with this? anywhere i can buy just the wheel retainer key? anyone buy one of these service packs? what all comes in it?
Are you talking about the cotter pins? They are in the HELP section at almost every auto parts store. Most hardware stores probably have them as well. They shouldn't cost more than a few bucks. They also don't have to be exactly the same size. I usually use slightly larger ones and cut the ends off.
