I ran mine through a filter full of steel wool. The oil settles to the bottom of the filter. It seems to get about a tablespoon every 5000 miles. I didn't run it to the back of the truck only to the back of the cab. Sometimes I catch a sniff of the smell it is weird. I used the filter so if the "Man" every notices it I can claim it is not being vented to the air as the filter catches the oil.

i did my CCV reroute for bout 45 or 50 bucks from NAPA.

1 expandable freeze plug to go into the intake tube an 15 or some feet of 1" heater hose an a worm clamp. twist tube in vale cover an hook hose to it.run hose over brake master cylinder an down wheelwell to frame. run hose along frame to back of truck. secure with zip ties to frame.

i stopped mine at my front leaf spring hanger an ran it above my step bars where they hook to the frame. u can see mine letting out smoke after i stop if i leave my truck running.but i live in Alabama an no one cares in the small town i live in.

just my .02$

I have one of these left over after I switched my GTO over to a header crankcase style evac set-up. I used it for quite some time, never had any leakage, etc. I think I'm gonna plug the intake part and adapt this to my valve cover with the shield on the lower side any oil should drip back in the valve cover, no expensive filter/catch canisters, no dripping on ground, anyone have any idea why this would work in my car and not in my 6.0 before I do it, or should I just be the guinea pig?

I suppose if I don't see anything on the shelf at my local HD/Lowes I can try these guys ... Replacement Swimming Pool and Spa Plug, Spigot (slip).
Anyone know the inside diameter of the intake I'd be plugging?

Sorry for the lapse in response. But I actually did get the cap at home depot. I think its 1 1/4, or 1" plug. I will try to get a pic of it, even tho you prob already have it done.

How much oil should I expect to see draining from this tube using as a daily driver (50-75miles/day)? Teaspoon a month? Cup a month?

How would you close off the tube going into the intake? ABS Cap? Fill with Silicone? Fill with Mother-in-Law?

Is there a petcock valve for the Intercooler?
Lol..... I'll give ya my mother-in-law for this job!

So If a closed loop system is not made one will have to deal with vapors?

I may attempt the open system sometime in the near future.... anyone have any pictures and/or instructions on this? I'm having a hard time visualizing where/how the hose hooks to the motor and what other ports you need to close off, etc.

Thanks!

Open system I'm guessing would be 1'' hose from drivers valve cover to the destination of your choice with a catch can. Then we would have to plug the intake right after the air filter where the CCV tube use to enter. Am I missing anything??

Sounds simple enough to me... I think I'm the one missing something! So right now, there is just a hose running from the driver's side valve cover to the intake? What are folks using to plug this hole? Is it as easy as attaching the hose to the intake with a clamp and then routing it down the frame rail?

Thats about it. You just don't want to create any dips in the hose that could trap a leg of liquid and back pressure the crankcase.

Would up & over be better than coming off sideways?
