I don't know what was done to this truck before I bought it. The truck had serious power when I bought it from a used car dealeri had plenty of time figuring that out since I had a 147 mile drive home from the dealer. I was getting about 26.3 miles to the gallon at 75 mph there had to have been work done to it before I bought it. It sounds like an jet rolling down the street.
When I get done work I will put it on the scanner and check the temps as for the boost my scanner and the edge attitude display say the same thing. Boost peaks at 56.8 lbs at 4800 or so rpm's my average 24 to 26 lbs at around 3200 rpm's.
Set your Edge to 0 and see what your numbers are. Did you install the Edge, or did the truck come with it? 4800 rpm's is borderline rods coming through the block. Take a picture of your turbo and post it.
Are you sure that all the facts are here? This doesn't add up between the boost numbers, to having #6 injector being bad and getting 26.3 MPG at 75 MPH. How can you get absolutely amazing fuel mileage that those who have a perfectly running truck, going down hill with a tail wind will never see, and at the same time have a poor running engine when warm?
To begin with, you should probably start with a new set of baselines from tools that reflect accurate information. What are your measured coolant temperature, oil temperatures? What code exactly as appearing that indicated an EGR issue?
I have cleaned the turbo, replaced the vgt. I clean the EGR about once a month and I'm losing coolant not oil. My oil is fine. I have the EGR delete which I'm going to wait to do that when I do the head bolts. Since you suggest doing the oil cooler I will probably do that too. I don't know what was done to the truck prior to me getting the trick but I get 820 horses and about 1000 foot pounds of tourq
I just saw that one. Did you do the dyno pull? If those numbers are close to being right, your truck is already tuned, with injectors, and a stock VGT won't last long. Did the turbo that came off look like the one you put on?
I doubt a 6L is capable of that kind of horsepower and torque without coming apart. The new 6.7L with a Compressed Graphite Iron block is just now making 800 ft/lbs and 400 HP.
At the very least, aftermarket turbo, CAC tubes and Charge Air Cooler, injectors, fuel system to maintain pressure and enough fuel flow and some serious tuning. 56.8 PSI of boost would blow the stock CAC and tubes all to hell. That much boost, torque and RPM aren't going to just lift the heads, it's going to toss them through the hood. And someone did all these modifications and did NOT do head studs and delete the EGR?
Look to see if it has studs already. The bottom row of headbolts/studs are outside the valve covers. You can peek through past the air filter and other plumbing. You should see a hex head bolt or 12pt nut on the studs.
You'd have to have an aftermarket fuel system also. Might want to look in the glovebox for some receipts, or do your best to find the previous owner. If you have a single stock injector mixed with modded sticks, you're going to have some running issues. Take a picture of the motor, that would help a lot. Nothing adds up.
No the 26 mph was what I use to get. I'm sorry. Now I get at the most is 9.4 mph. Of is running between 74 celcius to 92 celcius. As for the turbo I have not changed it.I did have it off when i did the icp senser and I cleaned it before I put it back on. All I know is it is what looks like the stock garrett. Ever since the truck started to running bad I have had to run the edge higher and higher. It is set at 5 with the unit set at most responsive with out it I have to put my foot to the floor to get it to go Dow the street.

If your truck is running poorly why would you turn up the tuner? Kinda makes me think of fitting a square block in a round hole. And when it wont fit you just start smacking it with a hammer. The best thing for you to do would be get rid of that edge tuner before it does more damage or blows your motor up. Then take it to a reputable powerstroke mechanic and get a evaluation.
I had to have my trans done a while after I installed the edge and it didn't start to run like this till about fall. The edge has been in since the winter of 09 and the head bolts must be stock.
I turned it up cause I had to get to work. Now I can walk which is what I do most of the time. When I took it to the mechanicit put it on the computer I disconnected it that's when he told me that I had 2 codes one for #6 injector and for the EGR system no code was for the EGR valve. He recommended the EGR cooler cause of his past experience.
