Header Painting help

Hello
I bought a quart of header coating to use to coat my headers myself. I will use a spray gun for the outside. I was wanting to somehow coa the inside of them also but am not sure how to do it. Does anyone have an easy way to coat the inside of them.
Thanks Luke

Might I ask why are you thinking of coating the internal surface of the header?

My thinking is that it may keep the heat from the engine compartment better and also help with rust from the inside in the future. Maybe I do not need to worry about it though what would you do.
Thanks Luke

Corrosion needs a catalyst to occur.. the catalyst is water. Given enough time, hot combustion gases will evaporate any condensation so coating the inside of the header isn't worth it. IMO, your best bet is to do a really good job on the exterior surfaces.

Short operating cycles rusts out exhaust systems (mufflers/tubing) because the system isn't given enough time to evaporate built-up condensation.

Thank you very much.

I wouldn't bother with an internal coating because how would you know if you covered all the surface area? If you/I or whomever had the money for another set of headers to attempt it, I would do it to see if there were any benefit from it.

Like Silver mentioned, the heat cycles from operation, if you were to miss an area, oxidation (rust) can start and initiate the coating to flake off down the road and go out the pipe. Its not worth the effort if you miss an area, but thats a hit n' miss project I suppose. Interesting idea though, it could help the exhaust flow if done complete flange to collector hmmmm
