Okay, about a year ago I cut the second cat off on my 91 F-150 w/ a 300 I-6. The only problem was that where I cut between the two cats, the pipe reduces from about 3 inches to 2 1/2, so I couldn't get a clamp to hold a new pipe on. I cobbled a peice together that fit between the outlet of the first cat and the pipe going into the muffler. This fell apart today. I could do what I did again, except it never sealed well, and I did it with flex pipe (not my favorite stuff in the world.) What I want is duals, and I have two flowmasters (I think) sitting in my garage. What I'd like to do is cut the first cat off and run duals, but this would make my truck run poorly, seeing as the o2 sensor comes in after this cat. So, is there a high flow cat out there that comes with dual inlets and a single outlet that will fit on my exhaust, or am I looking at a really big job here. Thanks
Robert
DONT put flowmasters on. Waste of time, space, and money for a 4.9L. Get strait pipe running all the way back. To get it to fit on the original pipe just have sleeves custon made. I have had this EXACT thing done. You gotta have HUGE chrom echo cans, you will be surprised at how much of a difference they make it deepness of the sound.
