So i sent my chip off for a reflash, i bought it from some one else, about 5-6 weeks ago, i have tried emailing tony, calling several times, and still havent heared anything, i know it was delevered, i had it next day aired, and shows that its there, so am i just s.o.l???? i am taking a trip in two weeks, and was hoping to get it before then, what do i do? is there any other chip guys anybody recomends? do i just write off the cash that i paid tony, and i paid for the chip??
i think you will be ok. i know he is hard to get ahold of. in the past i have just emailed him every couple of days until i hear from him.
i am sort of in the same position as you except i originally bought my chip from tony about 7 years ago, i just need some different tunes. i tried calling and emailing multiple times and never got a response. so i just went on his site and filled out an order form and sent my chip in. i hope i am not screwed either.
It took me a month for a reburn and he screwed it up. It took another month to get it fixed, he fixed one thing only to screw up another. The third try he fixed what he screwed up and screwed up another thing. That's three months total. I've been with Tony for three years and I'm done with him. He has his assistant doing the reburns, not Tony. I used to brag about him, not anymore. Besides, if you want black smoke all over the country side, go with Tony, its only $4 a gallon! Also, like mentioned, he is impossible to get ahold of. Detailed emails explaining what you want only to be ignored.
Sorry Travis, I'm only expressing my view point from my experiences.
Wow 6 weeks after you next day air it he still hasn't contacted you? I heard his customer service was bad but thats just rediculous.
Glenn did you ever get a hold of php or dptuner?
Fellas... The guy is in a tough spot. He has a gentleman named Randall running the day to day of TDP. If you guys are unhappy, get a different tuner. It's not gonna do any good to complain about it. I would absolutely hate to be in Tony's position.
Justin, I did get ahold of PHP and DPtuner. Just haven't decided what to do. Right now I'm towing in low tow because it doesn't smoke as bad and seems to have good power. The shift points are what I'm upset about, one reburn they are at 50mph for OT shift and the next reburn they are at 35mph. I'm also playing with the OT button, if I don't then it shifts to OT to early and the smoke pours out. Besides, you can't pull 15K at 35mph in 4th gear.
James, your absolutely right, I shouldn't complain, especially on a public forum.

Well, this is how people talk now Glen. On the forums. If Tony cannot fulfill orders or if an intern is doing poor tunes, folks should know. Especially if it can't be fixed.
We sing his praises here, too. I love my tunes from Tony, but if it took two months to get an incorrect chip back, word gets around.

On the OP's six weeks, that's just plain wrong. He is sitting wondering about his money and lack of communication with TW.
In my case, Tony would not be as busy as he is if he would take the time to read the emails and/or talk on the phone with his customers. Three reburns and he still doesn't get it right? If he got it right the first time then there would be less work on his part and he could devote more time to his family and at the same time have a better rep-business.
In defense of Tony, on the last reburn I sent a check for $100 with the chip because, like the OP, I was going to go on a trip and needed the chip back as soon as possible. It still took a month and when I got the chip my check was in with the chip with the words "no charge for reburns". So, I'm on the fence here, he is a great honest guy but..............
Nobody wants to deal with what tony's going through. As bad as it may sound he or someone still needs to deal with better customer service like the 6 weeks the op mentioned.
X2 Darin. I understand that someone may be busy, but if you can't take care of the customers in your queue, you should not take on so many customers. just my 2 cents
I honestly feel bad for Tony and wish all the best for him and his family. After a four-year battle, we lost Pop last year to colon cancer. You guys get yourselves screened for it if you are over 45-50. I am not joking. Pop woulda had another 20 years if he'd done so.
Tony should still put a stop on new orders to pare down the queue. We'll all be there for him when things get better.
James, these last three responces seem to mirror what I'm trying to say. No one wants to deal with something like that. A few years ago when this started I donated both money and prayed for Morgan. So I hope you can see that I'm not a stone hearted SOB.
The good news is Morgan's spinal tap came back with no signs of cancer so it's just the tumor they have to deal with (again).
And from the breaking news category... Tony is slow on re-burns. They are free but they take time. If time is critical for you, there are other places you can spend your money.
