400 engine problem...?

Thanks! Haha it is a small world. Yea, i was at the Moses Lake Fair grounds here a few weeks ago for the monster truck rally. Gosh, i love those things! But yea, I got this truck for such an awesome price.
I bought it from a kid in Bothell for $1600 because the tranny leaks like a stuck pig. haha But its a c6 auto with a 205. Cheapest tranny to fix i have EVER delt with. It has a gorgeous 400 engine in it. 4 barrel edelbrock carb and heads, hedman headers, msd distributer cap, holley pistons, and other cool stuff. 1 ton axle in rear, 3/4 ton reinforced axle up front. ARB lockers front and rear.

You shouldn't have to weld a pair of threaded rods for a hold down, just get a kit at the auto store .... it'll include two J bolts, wing nuts, washers, and a piece to go across the top.

I know i am bouncing around topics but i was also wondering if its possible to get a bigger alternator than what i have in my truck now? Cause i need the power for my winch, air compressor, lights, etc.
