Talking Thanks guys!!!!!!!!

I just wanted to thank everyone for their help. I am now back on the road and my expy is driving like its brand new again!!!
It was the iac which was confirmed by Autozone who did the free check engine test and my husband put it on this past Friday afternoon. I also put some fuel injector cleaner in and had the oil changed. I just wanted to let you guys know that you rock, thanks.

P.S: Can you guys help me find some new tires that I won't have to pay $600 dollars for. My expy is a 4x4 and tire size is P255/70/r16. I don't do any off roading so do I still need to get all terrain tires or can I just get regular ones?

I have about 20k miles the Cooper Discoverer H/T's on my wife's truck. They are quiet, ride well, seem to be wearing evenly and slowly and they are M&S rated and do pretty well in the snow. I paid about $350 for the set including mounting and balancing at Farm and Fleet. They don't look real aggressive, but that's the trade-off for highway friendly tires. You can get A/Ts that have a more aggresive tread for a few buck more, but then you also add noise and possibly reduced wet handling and increased wear. I'll probably go with H/Ts again, only a bit larger next time - maybe P285/75R16.

Probably the last place you would look, but check Wal-Mart. They sell the "Liberator AT" all terrain tire, and it is actually quite nice. For your Expy, they are $68 each, plus mounting & balancing. For about $10 per wheel, you get the mount, balance, plus lifetime rotation/balance at any Wal-Mart across the nation!

I put a set of these on my mom's Jeep, and they ride quite nice and offer excellent traction in the rain and snow. I found out that Michellin makes these for Wal-Mart, so they can't be that bad.

Also, fourwheelparts.com has the Explorer Pro Comp's on sale, buy 3 get 1 free, plus free shipping. They would be a little more, but another excellent tire. I run these on my Bronco and love them.

First and foremost, ditch the 255/70's on your 4x4. I can't even believe Ford stooped so low as to put the same size tire on 4x4's as 4x2's, but they did and now it's time to fix their mistake. At a minimum, install 265/75/16 or you can go to 285/75/16. Either size tire will fit your stock rim and fit well within the wheel wells without any problems. Next, adjust your torsion bars slightly to level out your vehicle. Now you've got one bad looking truck.

As for tire recommendations, Michelins, BFG's, and Bridgestones are my favorites. Right now I've got the 285/75/16 Bridgestone Dueler AT's on my Expy and they've been exceptional for the past two years. Go to www.tirerack.com and do some comparison shopping. You won't beleive how much information is readily available.

Just remember, when you increase your overall tire/wheel height, your speedo will be off a little....~5% for 265's and ~ 10% for 285's. You can easily reprogram the pcm or just live with it.
