i recentl tilted my gauges too far and now my gas gauge, oil, water, and voltage gauges dont work.. what are my options here? anyway i can fix them or do i have to buy new ones? what would you all do?
i've heard of this too. I havent expierienced this even when i swapped out my cluster for one with a tach. it was shipped from florida, and i thought about that happening, but i looked at them i didn't see any fluid anywhere on the the new cluster or old cluster. i dont know where it would be but i tilted mine all sorts of ways front, back etc and they still worked. dont know how to fix it, except replacing.
The SPEEDO has Anit-Vibration fluid in it to prevent a floppy/jumpy speedo hand....the rest, to my understanding aren't susceptable to the whole laying them face down issue.....
Well my left hand blinker works fine? Just the gauges left of te speedo doesnt work now. Is the blinker and those gauges plugged into the same power source?
Yeah theres three plugs. But does the left hand blinker controlled by the left hand plug in? Because the blinker is working and would mean that their plugged up right?
I removed my cluster in 96 F250 and tipped upside down. The speedo needle ended up pegging out at 85 or whatever and I didn't notice until i put power back to it. Now my Speedo jumps like crazy 10mph fluctation at 30 mph or so on up to highway speed. I think it was a cooincedence, but you never know. I heard about the anti-vibe fluid but i don't think it's true in modern instruments. I've checked wiring several times since and it still happens.
I know i have the plugs matched up right. I was just wondering if the left side gauges and blinker are controlled by the same plug? Because that blinker works and if that blinker works that means their plugged up right.
Its like their stuck at where they were turned off. The gas gauge is at full, the water temp is in the normal area but the other two are like when the truck is turned off.
Ill pull it out today and take a look. Ill get some pics up today as well. Im finally off work. Leaving at 6:30 in the morning and getting home at 10:30 at night makes it kinda hard
well i got home and pulled it out and guess what, not plugged in all the way! i cant thank you guys enough. i dont know what i would do without this site lol. anyways i posted some pics in the dash gauge bulb thread of how mine turned out and all that good stuff.
