Crew cab 4x4 with tonneau cover. 800 miles on the truck and no flash. Drove 155 miles on mountainous interstate in WV the other day with cruise set at 60mph most of the way. Got 21mpg. I'm extremely pleased with this truck. Plan to tow with it by this weekend.
If your truck was built after 4-11-11 I believe it has the most recent flash.
I'm also impressed with the mileage. At 65 with 6 miles on the truck I got over 21 MPG bringing it home. I can't imagine anyone not being pleased with that.
In the 1st week or two after I bought my truck, I drove from SLC to Jackson Hole. Kept it 65-70 for the entire 300 miles. Filled up in Jackson and drove home the next day. I got 23 mpg for the trip.
So yes it's possible to get that type of mileage on longer trips where you keep the speed steady and reasonable.
But in the real world, I'm not getting that kind mileage, Day in and Day out. I bought my truck for work, not a daily commuter. Pulling trailers, I avg 11.5 mpg, Running empty around town I avg 15 mpg.
So yes the trucks can get good mileage. But unless thats the way you drive all the time, your avg will drop.
My truck was actually built on the 11th of April so it falls in the category of trucks built prior to the new flash. Missed it by one day!
Running empty around town I am getting 16-18mpg.
Yep...you have the 400-800 flash, but not the one dealing with shifting issues and CEL, etc. I don't recall anyone getting better or worse MPG after any flash.
Well I have 8000 miles on mine it's been at the shop for ofer a week now with no end is sight. I was getting 22 MGP it went all the way down to 13.5 I have had several issues with shifting, hesatation, the Regen is twice a day the ford dealer I take it to can't fix it they have been in contact with ford and still NO "fix" I will update when and if I get the truck back. Live the truck but not the problems and some are dealer related!
Welcome to FTE and sorry to hear about your troubles with your new truck. Hopefully, someone will come up with a solution soon. I haven't heard of the two a day regens before. That sux.
Yeah it sucks like I said I love the truck just not the dealer or the problems I am having. Well let me say that the dealer is great for selling it's the service part they need help with...
You mean that if my truck was built before 4/11/11 I do NOT have the 400/800 flash. I was told that mine would have 400/800. If I do not have it will they catch me up? I will light up the salesman's A$$ if I don't have it or get it....
I see you are from Wausau, wondering if you purchased it from the dealer there, I was looking at a new 6.7 f 350 in Wausau but I want a good dealer wth a good service department
