Just purchased an 02 excursion with the 5.4 liter engine. I have another one with the 7.3 in it. When I picked the vehicle up and was takeing it home I felt like it just doesnt have any power. It is lifted and has 35 inch tires. on it but, the diffs say 4.11 on them. acouple of times when I would take off and try to get it up to speed, it would shift so hard it would make the serpentine belt slip. It was a very hard shift. It has had a rebuilt trans about a year ago but not sure how many miles ago. when I got home I crawled up under it and was checking it out and saw that there is tranny fluid leeking out from all around the pan. and that the inspection plug was gone from below the torque converter.
First......What kind of tranmission is it? 4R100?
Second....Where can I get a plug to replace the missing one?
Third....What the heck is up with the NO POWER and jerk your head off shifting?
I plan to do a tranmission flush per the meathod I found in this forum but, I am building a house and have got other irons in the fire. I got a steel on this thing and I am trying to figure out is it worth fixxing the tranny or just selling the thing and make some money.

1st: Yes, it's a 4R100.
2nd: Many auto parts stores have a Help section. That section usually has one of those plugs.
3rd: You need to check for codes stored in the PCM. Something is wrong and nobody knows what it is without the codes. The auto parts stores that read them free can't read what you need to know.
