I have a 2005 king ranch expedition. Having trouble with tranmission like its slipping. Just seemed to start all of a sudden. Started noticing hesitation when going from reverse to drive before it would start to go. Then it started acting like slipping but only when driving and would slow down to turn or for traffic. Then when would excelerate would act like it was slipping engine would rev but wouldn't go then it would grab and heck and start to move. Only does it when in drive and does it with overdrive on or off. If you down shift to 2nd then shifts and takes right off. Changed filter and fluid and didn't seem to help. Wasn't sure if tranmission is going bad or valve or sensor causing the problem.?
i have also had issues with the tps sensor off and on. it will give me alarm and get no throttle response then when shut off and back on will be fine and have check engine light. after driving a few times light will go out and no more problems. wasnt sure if this might be related to my problems with the transmission or just a whole other problem. i have been looking online and seen a lot of things that could cause problems since transmission is controlled by computer. have found rebuilt tranasmission but would hate to spend that kind of money to still have same issue. i love the truck just hate all of the problems i have had with it. the transmission lines are all new they rusted and were leaking. the suspension has been all replaced with coil over and new struts because air system went bad. and now transmission problem.
I have a transmission problem but with different symptoms
I have 2005 EB edition. when it goes from second to third gear, the gears disengage just like putting the car in neutral. if I downshift to second gear, then it will re-engage. So my question is will the transmission need to be rebuilt and what cost would I expect for that? I have 136k miles on the car and everything else is in good shape.
