Snaped off the bleeder screw on front caliper then snaped off screw extractor in that! I can't Identify front axle or calipers. Best guess Dana 60 (on webing 60F C37285), (on caliper Bendix 2238452-r) Might of came out of a sixtys dump truck from PO,s words. Now what?
Sometimes the broken extractor will break out with center punch, and you can get replacement bleeders at a parts house for a few bucks. If those calipers are the same as mine (I have a D44 from 79 F250 with dual piston calipers) they are about 20-25 bucks for another caliper from Car Quest.
My favorite broken bolt removal tools are a punch and hammer to tap it at the edge making it spin out. If that doesn't work I use left handed drill bits. Usually the bit spinning to the left will cause the bolt to come out. Honestly though in this case I'd probably just opt for a new one like everyone else said.
Fought with it for over an hour. Looks like a shot it with a bullet now its a hole about half inch round an eight inch deep. I guess I just don't know how to match it up to an unknown 60. Everyone who looks at it says it big. Tubes have been rewelded on and from the look of the old spring perch at the center it was origanally pass drop. The axle was completly redone molly shafts, 6:50 R+P, locker, set up for 15" rims. Then sat for years. Anyway thanks for the help. RKD.
A new caliper would be great, but you wont find new, they are used/re-manufactured and not always the best idea. You have no idea how long it has been on the shelf and the seals could have dried out, then you end up with more problems. Fresh seals with new pistons is the best way to go. but the cost is more than "cheap" remans
