Stripped Bleeder Screw

I stripped my bleeder screw on the passenger front caliper. Any ideas how I can get it off now?

Stripped the hex head or the threads? If its the head try vice grips and a sharp rap with a hammer. If its the threads it would be easiest to replace the caliper.

It's the hex head. I tried vice grips and pb blaster but it still didn't budge. It's basically a round head now.

Its worth trying some gentle heat (propane) and another shot of PB blaster. Otherwise agree time for a new caliper.

I agree. Calipers are pretty cheap to fight them too much.

You can also beat on the next smaller size six point socket with a hammer on the bleeder. After you let it soak with your favorite penetrating oil as mentioned.

I think a replacement rebuilt exchange caliper would be the best idea. If the bleeder has frozen so tight it probably means that it has not been bled for a lot of years. So caliper is going to be full of muck.

If you can't get that bleeder off by working it back and forth, and a new caliper is out of the question for now, try bleeding it from the banjo bolt. Your brakes won't know the difference.

You could try using an easy-out /broken screw extractor tool.

i've yet to meet a broken/stripped bolt that couldn't be fixed by some heat and a bolt extractor.
