Center TTB U-joint repacement?

Center TTB U-joint repacement?
83 Dana 44 TTB Trying to change the center U-joint on the axle, Got the outer shaft out but could not get the inner shaft from the diff? How does it come out?
The Haynes book shows early externally retained axles don't have c clips, later internally retained axles do have c clips? Is there A year that this changed? How can I tell for sure before I pry on this to much?

Got the Axle out along with the seal bearing and a spacer that was stuck to the axle out. It all came out as one piece and, I stuck it back in as one piece! all went back together easy! Did some 4 wheeling afterwards!
