Upgraded Shocks
Upgraded Shocks
Hi, this is my first post. I have a 2wd 2006 F150 XL and I am interested in buying some new shocks as well as a leveling kit to improve the ride around town and give me a smoother ride on desert trails. I'm not interested in spending a lot on racing shocks. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Bilstein makes a strut the relocates the spring which will level the front to rear stance. Shock Warehouse has a good price on them. Also, Rancho makes one if I'm not mistaken. Bilstein would be the better choice IMHO but they might be stiffer than some.
Thanks for the info. I was thinking about some ProComp es9000 and a skyjacker leveler since those shocks are pretty cheap and they have better reviews than the other cheaper procomp shocks. I know many people have bad things to say about procomp shocks but do you think they would work ok for city travel (San Diego) as well as some desert trails (Plaster City, Imperial Valley, CA)? I would just like to get some shocks that are one up from the factory ones. Thanks!
You could go with Monroe SensaTrac Quick Strut assembly and the skyjacker kit if you don't have access to a strut compressor. You need a good tool to compress these units and the Quick Strut has new spring, mount and boot. You can put these on at home.
