I've got my van running wonderfully, and now I am prepping it to tow our TT. Has a 4 pin installed, and I am trying to make it a 7 pin, bought the conversion kit. I "think" i found the factory installed harness for the brake controller in near the left wheel well, and I have found the controller plug up front. I have the cable that goes from the Controller directly to the harness.
Now: I cant find anything that will go from the factory towing harness under the van (round) to the bumper, and then something to go from the 4 pin I have installed to the 7.
Also, is there some relay I have to install? Nothing in the haynes about it.
The relay goes in the box under the hood, you'll see the large fuses for the towing harness in there too, always check your grounds, the trailer, and the one on the van, those fuses are rather expensive $4 each. If your turn signal fuse is popping only when the running lights are on, it's "always" the ground, I have experience here. Use electric grease in the connector to stop corrosion, and bolt the ground to a bare frame surface, paint over after it's secured and tight. I found my forward brake controller connection, but not being able to crawl under my 15 passenger, I've not gotten around to hooking up the rear, just use my 4 pin in the past.
