hey guys im new
i just bought a 2007 fx 4 with 116000 miles it has the triton 5.4 i know i test drove it good etc well i am out of town with work right now and drive it on a 400 mile trip and noticed that when you are in overdrive and going up a small inckline it acts like the truck is locking up, if i get on the gas a lil and make it shift it stops.
the truck shifts smooth and everything on this truck is tight no clunks or nothing
i hope its not the transmission and sometimes after putting it in park and idling and turnings steering wheel it will start idling really rough
what could this be only does it speeds 50-57 like i said if i make it shift it stops please help
What do you mean by ".....it acts like it is locking up"? Welcome to the forum by the way. One other thing, that key on your key board that says shift? You use that when you are using the pro-noun "I". Sorry, I get on my soap box now and then.
sorry i just type haha not like i am writing to a lawyer or so but it like bug jumps i dont know what else to say i had a chevy before this and it did it actually the same thing and i changed my sparkplugs and it never did it again maybe that my problem again?
The spark plugs are supposed to be changed at 100k if it has not been done already. Another possiability could be the tourqe converter in the transmission.

Still don't know what you mean by locking up. Do you mean it's bogging down? no power?. Yes, it may be way past time to change the plugs and good luck with that if it's never been done. Sorry, but that's the truth.
I won't get back to this post till next week. Off to a bowing tournament for the weekend.
okay thanks guys i dont think its the tc cause it wouldnt shift right on hills or under power other times i really really think and also hope its the plugs i am going sat morning to get a diagnostic done at the dealer
i will keep yall updated plugs would make sense since my chevy did same thing and that fixed it plus when u are idling and move the steering wheel it will start running rough so once again leans towards plugs i really dont think it is anuthing serious i guess i will see saturday
goodnight guys
