Help

So I have owned my 96 F150 Eddie Bauer 5.8 liter for a little over a year. Bought it from my old boss for a dollar. Best truck i have ever owned. it has 325,000 miles on it and now it is falling apart. I need to replace the 8.8 rear end. Debating on the 44 or 9" rear end. which do you think is better. I live in Wyoming, and me and that truck go to the mountains as much as possible. Also I would like to convert the front end to a solid front axle what are your recomendations for me to change my entire drivetrain to fit with my 5.8 liter engine. it is getting rebuilt by me and my dad. any help or suggestions would be greatly apreciated.
