Lately, life has gotten busy and the hauler is getting every little use. It’s been over 9 months since I changed oil and I now hit 3.5K miles on it. Do you think it’s prudent to wait until 5K to change oil? Or do you want me to change the oil anyway? Let me know.

As long as you change the oil at least once a year (with little use) you should be fine. What is the color of the oil? I change conventional Rotella at 7K miles, so your synthetic should be just fine.

I do not use synthetic, but I only drive ruffly 6000 miles a year on my truck. I change the oil every six months. Now I have an 2009 V10 not a 2000 7.3. Do not know what your manual says but mine says 7500 miles or every six months. Hope this helps..

we have seen condensation build up in truck not run much . i would do the oil change

i would just make sure that on the rare occasion you drive-it------you drive it, i run amsoil full- syn--every 5 k which is not quite twice a year,but when i drive it- it will be for 20 or more miles at highway speeds--good heat,elminates condensation---------temporarily!!
