The 3rd Infantry has found a chemical weapons facility about 90 miles south of Baghdad near An Najaf according to Fox News. The General and accompanying soldiers have surrendered. The 100 acre facility was constructed of sand cast to camouflage its presents making aerial photography impossible. So much for the French wanting more proof.
I know what the protesters are saying:
"It's fake. We are staging it. They planted it there. They're lying."
They don't want to be wrong, so they are going to imitate the French like stupid little mockingbirds.

I know it's predictable thinking by someone like me who despises the French governments stance on Iraq, but I still wonder what will be found with a made in France tag much like the nuclear reactor they supplied in the eighties?

You already heard it right here on this conference, "We have them, why didn't we get rid of ours."
Of course the answer is simple. We (The world) gave up the World Court for the UN control. Saddam was sued and agreed to give up these weapons if he was allowed to stay in power. He has been lying for years and more time wouldn't have changed a thing. The oil for food money has been going into these weapons, wait until you see all the starving children that are yet to come out of Iraq.
The money owed to Russia and France is speculation as to one reason why the two countries don't want chaos in Iraq. Interestingly Saudi Arabia is looking into canceling a 800 million dollar French Tank contract. Sort of back door effort to support the USA/UK.
Iraq also owes the UK money as well.

Has anyone seen the reports on Fox about Russian night Vision and jamming equipment found in Iraq, as well as anti tank missles and the such?
From what I understood the Russians were training them how to use this stuff as our troops are moving!
from AP wire...
Some of the elements the Apaches tried to strike were Iraqi T-72 battle tanks, the most advanced tank used by the Iraqi forces.
In this morning's press - after an Apache was brought down.
The T-72 are Russian designed tanks - made maybe in Russia or a country it licensed to manufacture. Don't know what vintage the Iraq's T-72 are if they're the upgraded ones thats bad news.
it seems like when i go to gun shows, it seems like you can buy an SKS, AK-47, or any kind of rifles made by any third world country.
but i was suprised to see on the news yesterday a U.S. soldier standing in front of captured Iraqi weapons, AK-47s and AK-74's....... they were all RUSSIAN made.... hmmm... matter of preference or politics??
I was refering to the highly sophisticated radar jamming equipment that was found, and the 1st generation night vision goggles that were supplied by russian arms dealers. And that they were not stopped by the russian government, even when requested by the US govt.
They are routinely finding atropine kits and gas masks which are banned items during the sanctions. The date of manufacture is 2002 and made in Russia.
Now is it getting clearer why Russia and France didn't want us in there? They sure wouldn't want to face their own tanks and God knows what else.
