The tank was pretty clean, as was the sock. The sock was also approx. the same size, just angled a little different. This morning I decided to block off the EGR on the intake, truck runs much better. Still has a small skip in it, but that could be a build-up of carbon on the valves I guess. I wont be leaving it this way, just gotta try to figure out why it is acting up. Will have to go get another EGR valve later and try that. Am just gonna run it for a day to see if it clears up.
Ok, so I ran the truck since yesterday, still has that mid throttle skip. Ordered a new EGR, but that doesn,t fix my miss/skip problem. Still idles ok, and mash it to the floor, runs ok. Normal driving, runs like crap. Anyone have any ideas where else to look? Got me baffled silly.
I put a new TPS on it sidewinder. The old 1 didn't quite read right according to the manual, as far as the specs go. Resistance was really sparditic. So I put a new 1 on.
Ok, so we ran the truck a couple of days, and it still ran crappy after pluggin off the EGR. We fired it up for work monday morning at the shop to tow our stump grinder, and this thing runs better than it ever has since we have owned it. Don't know what changed, but since it seems to run fine, ain't gonna mess with it anymore!!!
