Replaced factory gauge pod with my own. When i turn the signal lights on they light up per side but do not flash. The hazard lights on the other hand do flash the lights properly.

What type flasher do you have? How many bulbs do you have hooked up(front, and rear and the dash indicators?). Are the bulbs LED? What year truck are you working on?
1989 f150 4x4 , got the signal lights and brake lights working but no rear running lights. There is a single male connector not connected to nothing in the rear harness does this need to be grounded or something for the running lights?? thanks
The running lights and the license plate lights are all fed by one brown wire. It's the same brown wire that feeds the front running lights. So I would find the brown wire in the rear harness and make sure it has power when the headlight switch is pulled out. There should be a splice back there where the license plate lights branch off the brown wire also.
Thanks the license plate lights work like normal just no running lights I will check the brown wire connection, I would still like to know what the single plug at the rear light harness is for.

help!!
I believe you have too large a load on that flasher. You need to buy a HD one.
Is this a dually pickup? They had extra clearance lights on them. I would not worry about where it goes too much, you will find unused plugs here and there all over truck. They used a basic harness sometimes, and if your truck didn't have the option ordered, the harness will have the wire and the plug, but nothing else.
