Looks good. Couple of days to dry, then backfill. You going to jet the fill and pour the floor before framing or just let it settle while framing and pour the floor afterwards? What kind of restrictions are you guys under for floor drains?
Going to let it dry till after the weekend then back fill.I'm going to bury a pipe for a drain the ground drains pretty fast where the shop is built. I'm thinking about making a frame in the concrete floor for anchors so I can pull things straight if I have to also.
More progress has been made, got the road crush yesterday and put in place ready to be compacted and we will be starting with the framing shortly. Also bottom treated plates are bolted in place too!
Awesome. If you never have had a shop with in floor in it, its fricking unreal. My dad has in floor in his, shop, and even when its 30 below, its still nice at 45-50 in the shop.
Are you getting a boiler? Or using a water heater?
My experience is that a 30 gal. electric water heater would serve better for floor heating. The cost difference between the tank and tankless alone will pay for alot of electric bills and truck parts, as well as the replacement cost in the future. 110 degree water is all that is needed for space heating, which is why boilers are overkill with 180 degree water that must be tempered. Additional materials=additional cost. Looks like a fun project. Good luck.
When you say waterless, your talking about putting an electric heating element in the concrete correct? I would caution against that type of setup. If the wiring goes bad, its junk. At least with a water tube type system, the tubes will always pretty much be good.
