Hey guys I'm Geoff
So Im looking at getting a 1988 f250 4x4 auto. it has 275,000 on the truck and 60,000 on the motor that is out of a 93 f450. He says that it does leak a little coolant and he doesn't know where from and the timing needs to be slightly tweaked. F 250 Diesel 4X4
Is there anything that I need to know about these engines/trucks? I messed with a couple of 7.3 PSD in my highschool auto class a couple of years back and a good friend of mine has a 6.9 with 500,000 on the original motor so I know they are strong but are there any week points that I need to look out for.
On a side not about my friends truck, one day the two of us filled two water bottles with water out of the water filter, and the truck was and is still running. I found that pretty impressive, just thought I would share.
rust isn't that bad but yes Ill make sure I ask the guy if he has messed with it. He says he just put the motor in over the winter so if that is the same truck, which I doubt it, it could be a different motor.
