Update front clip

I havelooked on here and most people update the early 99-04's with 05-07 front ends. Has anyone ever updated one to a 08-10 front end and tailgate? O like the look of these and am contemplating it. They look like they would be compatible but wanted to know if anyone has conquered this. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

That would require a lot more work. The 05-07 only needs a new grill, headlights and a bumper. The 08-10 would need new fenders and a new hood also.

tailgate is a direct swap over with 1 small part purchase (other then teh tailgate of course)

the front end conversion is a HUGE undertaking, involving replacing the front frame horns and complete rad support and fender aprons..

this is by NO means a simple thing to do.. and certainly not cheap.. the only way you could do this really would be to have a donor vehicle and be a professional bodyman... theres a bunch of welding/cutting and fab work..

sorry, but if you have a early SD and wanna do some upgrades, stick to the pre-08 styles..unless you got a big bankroll, then in that case giver.. 8-)

Seems to me the front frame section was changed for 08 too to meet crash requirements to keep the goofballs in hybrids out from under the front of them.

Been thinking about doing a couple of my earlier XL trucks to an 05-07 with the chrome package grille. Just can't bring myself to spend that kind of money.
