Seems someone's asking where to get one about every other week so figured i post this up, this guy has five, not the best price, but not the worst price either... 1978-79 Ford High Pinion Front Dana 60 | eBay
Almost makes me feel quilty that I found a 79 with the "snowfighter" package and paid the guy $500 for the whole thing. The power steering unit was nice too.
Yea that guy is close to me. He has 5 of them because he wants $1200 eaach. wow. I doubt there are many willing to pay $1200 and then the freight to go along with it.

wrong.
he used to have a lot more. some are willing to pay that price.
The worst part about spending that kind of money on them is they could be totally ragged out. Before you know it your $1200 turns into a $2k axles with shipping and parts. Not a very good deal in the end.
Some may spend that but I didnt and wont. However if someone on here is interested in one of those I hope they show up in good shape and aren't a piece of of junk.

You'd be surprised, many are willing to pay that, his price is actually middle of the road, nationwide craigslist searches for a HP D60 typically show pricing from $800 to $1,500
Mine only cost a grand, but it still had attached to it a 79 super cab/long bed 460 auto, snow plow set up still on it and I only went to Ks from Mo to get it.
Axle for another rig and parting out the rest to other projects.....oh yea it came with a title too. But the body is SHOT, not worth trying to save the cab or bed.
Makes you think that these axles aren't that rare and many are still out there since they seem to come up all the time. Granted scattered across the country, but they are out there and people are willing to sell them because they can get the money, so more and more are coming up for sell. Dang, I'd hate to pay $1200-1500 for an axle which could easily cost another $1000 to get into shape, plus shipping on top of it. But, he will probably get them sold because people want them.
I sold the one i had on CL for $1,100 (was asking $1,200) it sold the very first weekend i listed it, the guy drove 6hrs round trip to buy it (i live in the middle of nowhere) like anything else it's all about supply and demand, some parts of the country e.g. the northeast just seem to have more of these axles.
