So I put the rear flaps on this morning. The one hole you have to drill (through the plastic fender liner) seems poorly designed as you have to bend the flap back and push the fender liner forward. Anyone else think this is goofy? I was going to heat the flap up with my heat gun and try to mold it back some to relieve the tension.
Also...the front flaps had obviously been opened and returned as there were 2 fasteners missing from the box....really frustrating to think you're going to finish a job and find that you're only getting it half done!
I had mine installed. I like them. A little worried about the drilling into the metal, though. After awhile rust..then chipping of the paint. I read later they make some that are no drilling required...Probably the democrat ones!!! LOL

Thats all I got, Sorry

The drilling on these actually goes through plastic, not metal. Funny joke, tho!
I put them on my truck. I didn't like the idea of drilling into the metal either. I just left that screw out. Still pretty sturdy minus one screw. I was not going to put the screw through the plastic either but it pulls everything tight and makes it look better. No need to use a heat gun, the single screw does a good job. I have been thinking about putting in a second screw on the other side just to keep everything nice and tight together. Seems like some dirt and mud will get in between the two. But overall I like them and they do a good job.
I had Huskies on my '00, they fit perfectly. So, I expected the same for my '11. After installing them, I actually sent Husky an email outlining the installation issues (same as you). I basically told them the guards were not ready for prime time and the rears needed additional design/engineering for a good fit and customer satisfaction. Husky never even acknowledged my email. For me the fronts were a good fit, but the rears were just plain goofy. Probably my last set from Husky, unless they re-design.
They do seem to do the job, however.
Sidebar: I do have the Ford flairs so the design is definately different from the sheet metal only trucks.
What metal are you guys drilling through? My flaps did not require drilling through any metal. I used all 4 screws.
There are two different types of wheel flares. If you got a two tone paint job, you will have a plastic wider wheel flare. Solid color trucks are all metal and do not flare. Hope this helps clarify things a bit.
