I second everyone's post! Everyone captured exactly what I love about these trucks!
Another thing: I'm only 5' 10". In my newer Dodge I can't reach things in the bed thanks to 20" rims and the way the truck sits. As a result I have scratches along the side of the bed from belt buckles and the like.
My 95 F150 has 15 inch rims and sets to where I can reach into the center of the bed. Also makes jumping in and out of the bed easier.
And oh yes! Definitely Love the "vent window" as stated earlier!
My guess is they discontinued these because they are easy to break into?

vent window is no easier to break into than any other window, lol, glass is glass and it shatters all the same, i just love it as a smoker to be able to open my vent in a downpour and not get my body soaked (just my knee lol)

I need to add to my previous post.
I can get in and out of it easily without a ladder and yet still have the ability to crawl under the truck and work on it without lifting it. The vent windows are great when you have nasty gas, sucks it right out.
Also, there's almost NO electronic sensors like traction control, tire pressure monitoring and a load of other things you don't need. This makes your alternator much cheaper too.

I have owned an '73, '88, '95, '98, and '00. I have really enjoyed all of the trucks and have had good service from all, but there is something about the '92-96 trucks that have always appealed to me. I think it's because it has a great design, simplicity enough to work on and make upgrades, and the truck is durable. Also, it's because I can afford it. I can choose to build what I want without having to worry about a payment of a newer vehicle. It was when a truck was a truck and not a luxury vehicle. My boss just purchased a '11 F150 Platinum Edition 4X4 and it is super smooth, but at the window sticker price of $51,000???
'88 - 302 equipped...had to sale because mpg was killing me with the job I had at the time that required much driving.
'98 - 5.4 Supercab 4x4 Lariat. Great truck. Drove until 156,000 miles with doing absolutely nothing but change the oil. Sold to a guy at work and he pushed it on to almost 300k before he sold.
'73 - 302 Reg cab 4X2 LWB. C4 Auto. Inherited the '73 from my grandfather. Truck has been a work in progress ever since. 5 years now...I think. Maybe someday I will get it running again....lol.
'00 - 5.4 Supercab 4x4 Lariat. Another good truck...but did catch on fire sitting in the parking lot due to some kind of defect in the cruise or abs module. Factory had a recall. All was repaired by Ford back to normal. Other than that, absolutely no issues, sold the truck with 136K.
'95 - 5.0 Reg Cab 4x2 SWB XLT. Purchased with 146k on the clock, dropped in a fresh 5.0 stroker and factory stock '03 4r70w and enjoying every day. No major problems thus far......going on a year.

i love my 94 f150 4x4 with the 302 and E4OD.
first of all because its all steel!! my dad had a 97 4x4 with a 4.6. he backed into a tree and we found out the quarter pannels were plasitc or fiberglass or some *****.
2nd, the ease of maintenece and reliability that NO other vehicle after 96 could dream of giving. you can put it through hell and itll still be happy. plus a new engine is pretty affordable.
3rd...d*mn good looking body stles haha

Yeah,
My Dad Owned a '58 Ford F-100, I owned a '75 F-100, a '79 F-250, and now my '96 F-150. I own it, I work it, I'm very happy with it and will never give it up. My son-in-law once stated he wanted it when I kicked off. I said sure. Let's go to the cemetary and make arrangements. He said why. I told him, when I go, it goes with me.
My '75.
A true hard working truck. Died of cancer in '95.
And, Raven. My wife calls her my 'Mistress".

Mine is going to be my next project when the current motor gives out. I already have a 5.8 to replace the 5.0 and am going to do a lot of extras as well; new paint, interior, etc. It currently has 212,000 and I drive it daily. Still runs like a new truck. I am not sure if I am ever going to get the opportunity.
