Lariat and FX Differences

Guys,

New to the 04-08 scene. I'm in the market for either an 06 or 07 and need to know the differences between an 07 FX2 and an 06 Lariat. I'm not familiar enough with these models to know what I'm looking for. Is there a spec sheet somewhere that I can refer to? Thanks in advance, Scott

Go to sites like Edmunds.com

If you are looking at two specific trucks then the differences will be there.

I can tell you this, FX is more towards being sporty, where Lariat is more to Luxury.

The FX2 is two wheel drive and the Lariat is 2 or 4 wheel drive. The FX4 (4 wheel drive) is avialable with a luxury package that includes many of the options the Lariat has. The lariat does come with a specific instrument panel that includes a trip computer.

The FX2 ('07 and newer) or FX4 ('04 to '08) series has carbon fiber center stack covers and is tailored more to younger guys. The lariat has wood grain dash panels. Both have similar features especially with the Luxury Package on on FX series. Lariat's do have the trip computer in the cluster that the FX's do not have.

Both are available with the console shifter or column shifter, but the console is probably the most common variable.

The FX is leather trimmed (backseat is vinyl) while the Lariat is almost all leather...very little vinyl. I think the seat sides are not leather in both trucks but the seat bottom and back (the part you actually sit on) is all leather in the Lariat

Thanks guys. I've decided on the 07 Supercrew FX2. It has leather, 5.4, tow package, and 3.55 L/S. I plan on adding some factory 20" rims. Are there any issues with speedometer calibration or are the 18 and 20 inch the same tatal diameter?

That all depends on the tire size you plan on putting on the new wheels.
Here's a good tire size calculator that allows you to compare sizes.
Tire Size Calculator - tire & wheel plus sizing
