Boost issue
When I'm driving sometimes it will pour black smoke and make no boost, and then the next time I get on the throttle it goes make to making boost like normal, has anyone had this happen before? It has the following thing done in the last 50k.
I have a 2006 f-250 lariat FX4 it has the following mods:
EGR delete, Powermax Turbo, Rudy's Diesel Up Pipe, 4" Turbo Back Muffler Delete, New For Injectors, Blue Spring mod, Gear Head Tune, S&B Elbow And S&B Cold air kit

Check the condition of your map sensor, specifically the nipple and hose for cracks or splits, then move to the other side of the hose and check the brass nipple for clogging. You can also try unplugging the ebp sensor and see if that changes anything. If it does, clean the sensor and tube.
Also, if you have gauges it's easier to pinpoint the sensors that get out of whack.

Has anyone gotten to the bottom of this? I have a 2008 f350 and i have 2 times replaces the ERG sensor and pig tail 2 times and the MAP sensor in fact 2 weeks ago on both. Today while im about 300 miles away my turbo psi started acting funny. Im confused on what keeps causing this

The problem I had was similar (years ago) it ended up being the turbo needed to be cleaned up.
Since I already knew of a bad turbo seal, I should have tested the VGT actuator at the time to verify its functionality. I think this was at the 22k mi. mark.
I noticed the boost gauge would not respond with throttle input, or at least have a huge delay. EGT's would then go up, it felt like I was towing with an underpowered vehicle.

Mine did the same thing when I had a crack in the cold air drivers side cac tube. It was on the bottom so I had to remove it to see it. I replaced it with two boots and a metal tube and now all is fine. But when the plastic one was on there with the crack it would pour crazy amounts of black smoke. I could block out the sun if I really got on it!!
