Hello All,
I am in the process of lowering my 67. I will be doing the half axle flip.I ordered the 6 deg shims that were recommended on this site. I received them and they have a slight radius on one side.
What you have to pay attention to is making sure the degrees of angle are the same on the trans as they are on the rear end. So put a degree wheel on the face of the trans output and if it measures say 5 degrees then you want to make the angle of the pinion as close to 5 degrees as possible. This is called keeping the u joints in phase.
Thanks,
But the shims I have have a radius on one side of the block. It seems to me it would not work good because it looks like it would allow the axle to be able to rotate slightly. I thought that the angled sides would be flat not radiused
