I didn't think much of it until I started reading and my jaw dropped... I've heard of people swapping Cummins into F350s, but I don't know if I've ever seen someone drop a diesel into an F150 swb! And it's a really clean nice truck to boot!
Nice Cummins 4BT in that truck! It's even got an Intercooler and the nice inline injection pump as well, not the older style one. Someone put a lot of money into that truck!
Am doing the exact same thing, minus the intercooler in my 85 F150 KK, LB - with a GM 700R4 OD tranny (yeah I know, sacrilege).
The 25mpg figure I have seen repeatedly with a 4BT and am hoping to get the same when my project is done.
4 speed manual trans with OD, and 3.08 8.8" rear axle. No A/C.
Otherwise, pretty nice rig. I'd bet that 25 MPG claim is very easy to get. Driven right, it might even go higher than 25 MPG.
Didnt even notice that it had the diesel swapped into it. I read "4.9L Straight 6 Cylinder Gasoline Fuel" under engine type and didnt look further on it.
