When we were looking for our new truck my wife asked if we needed the step tailgate...I told her "no, those are for fat old guys to get in the bed". We still got it since the truck I liked had it but maybe someday it'll be used.
The manstep wasn't on my shopping list when I bought last Aug. But since I bought off the lot, there wasn't much choice. After using the step a few times, I have concluded, it is handy. More than that though, is the fact that it hurts your knees to throw them up on the tailgate now, with all that plastic skin covering the manstep hardware. There isn't a smooth place on the thing. You are almost forced to use it.
