THE ONLY WAY I have ever seen leaf springs stay looking good after all that work is when they have installed plastic strips between each leaf. The street rod guys do it quite a bit. I've seen the stuff for sale before but I dont remember where. Might Google it or try some of the street rod suppliers................
The way i painted mine is i took the center bolts and clamps off took them to the sandblaster and when it came time to paint i actually used a long piece of all thread and ran it through the center bolt hole and stagered the springs so you can paint them easily. I used ppg epoxy primer and acrilic enamel so far no rust. painted them 5 years ago but the trucks not drivin much. I also painted springs together but it seems like they start bleeding rust guickly.
