Im new to the site;hope to find some good build tips for the 55 pickup, even though I'm in the final stages. I am installing new vent glass assembly including seals of course (supplied by Mid-Fifties in AZ; they've been good to me over the past few years). I finished the driver's door, tightened the division bar to the back of the vent glass as much as possible and I still have a slight gap (2"x 1/16") along forward edge of frame when closed. Has anyone else experienced this? Do I just have to live with it?
There are screws that screw the edge of the vent frame into the track. these will pull it in. I assume you haven't put the "big" side glass in yet? If not proceed no further on it until the vent is snugged into position.
I just completed this process, after I got the side and vent window in I install all the screws in loosely rolled the window up and locked the vent window. Then moved the division bar as necessary until everything was lined up. The vent window will also go forward and backwards for adjustments.
Thanks guys! I have the two frame screws installed and the two screws in the top of the div bar are as far "forward" as they'll go. Like I say, she fits nice, side glass working fairly well, the gap is small but don't want it!
