Hey guys! And First Questions!
Hey all! I just bought a 1950 Ford F1 with the 239 flathead and a 4-speed floor shift transmission, I've got a few questions but first, some pics!
I've already changed those Cadillac hubcaps to the original Ford ones, new distributor cap, leads, plugs and about to do a full fluid change. The most important question I have right now is I need to change the tires as they are pretty shot...
They are 6.70-15 Firestone's. I wanna price all my options before I make a decision so what does that size equal in modern sizes? Obviously it's gonna be an R15 but what width/profile? Is it around a 175 or 185 by 65 or so?
Thanks guys!

Sweet truck! A 235-75R15 is an approximate height to the original 6.00/6.50x16, but will be a bit wider than your stockers. From the side, they'll fill the wheel opening correctly. If you still want to stick with the stock skinnies, you'll probably have to stay with your current size.

Thanks for the comments all!
I'm pricing up my tire options tomorrow hopefully. I'd like to keep the wide whitewalls but it all comes down to cost. We shall see what I can scrounge up...
It's gonna be my little work run-around so it may get some vintage styled logos for the doors but that's gonna be it I think, I wanna keep it mostly as is. Gotta get some more good photos of it cleaned up once it's on the road.

No matter what wheel size you choose, I'd recommend going with WWW tires.
You can see how 16" wheels and tires fill up the wheelwells.

Nice truck. This is just my opinion, but it's directly from my own personal experience and the mistake I made. IF you end up going with a set of original 16 inch rims, do not go with 235's in the 16 inch tires. I bought a set when I got my rims, the sidewall has to flex way too far in to accomodate that very narrow bead. I ended up swapping mine with a set of LT P215/85/16's. See photo below. Diamondback tire in Carolina is a good bunch to ask this question. They told me that an original 600-16 bias ply equals out to a 195/80/16 (coker told me it was a 205). Tire sizes are the absolute most confusing thing out there. It's all about ratios and some sort of witch craft. You'd think that one number represents the tread width and the other represents the sidewall height and that's that. Well...they do to a point, but it's more of a ratio that is impossible for my little brain to totally understand. I'm sure somebody will jump on here and say the contrary. But the recc. above only applies to the 16 inch rims. If you stay with a 15 inch rim, the 235 is probably a better option as stated earlier.
