Sorry to beat the SD/MAF deadhorse some more....

I haven't read or searched this topic, and don't plan on it (sorry) but this is such an easy project IF there was ever a massair 300.
Check out the last year of the 300, being 96 I believe.
Things you will need at minimum
Mass air meter and lid and tube from a van or maf truck setup
300 mass air ecu. Just go buy one at parts store. I doubt you'll find one used
Mass air pigtail
Ecu pins
You will easily find a wire diagram for the sd and maf ecu. Repin the sd harness to match the maf ecu and add the nessisary pins for maf. The map sensor will need to be open to air. It will become a barometric pressure sensor now (usually)
Find out what size injectors the maf 300 uses. If you don't have them already then get them. The 60/70mm maf will be correct for the ecu. All factory ford mafs are calibrated the same. The ecu is adjusted according to factory injector size issued to the setup.
Bla bla bla. Keep asking questions. Don't give up.

I was reading a little on this subject down in the 6 cylinder forum section recently. The previous reply brought up the same question in my head. If the 300 six did not go MAF until 1996 wouldn't that make the PCM an OBD-II system assuming the engine was in a F150? That would make the swap much more involved.

I searched and found that I dug up some info on this same subject about a year ago: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...ir-ecu-id.html
Long story short, there was a SFI EEC-IV on some 1995 California models.

The larger F250/350s did remain OBD-I until the new body style/modular engines. The F150/Bronco went OBD-II in 1996.

Nifty.
So does the 96 f150 with 5liter have coilpacks like the Explorer v8 or is it distributor and somehow it's an obd2 ecu.
My 94 gt mustang has an obd2 port...but it's an eec4 computer and the obd2 port don work. My mothers 94 v6 mustang also has an obd2 port and eec5 computer and the port functions properly.
I guess I need to find a 96 f150 to check out the electronics.
