Ford 4.9l Mass Air ECU ID
I am looking to convert my Ford 300 I6 from speed density to mass air. All I need is a way to identify a mass air computer. Are there any calibration codes that anyone knows of that are for these maf computers? I could've had a computer out of a 94 mass air truck but the junkyard crushed it

You could go to Motorcraftservice.com and look under Quick Guides/VEC1 labels. You will need to search a little because you do not have the calibration code from the door sticker but all it takes is a little hunting and pecking.
I'm not so sure that '94 you spied had a MAF computer. I could not find a listing in the VEC1 labels for any MAF equipped 4.9L light truck series. I did find a listing in the 1995 models for such an animal, Calibration 5-52R-R00. The EEC-IV part number was F5TF 12A650-MA. It is not going to be a simple swap. It looks like the PCM has some other solenoids/air valves it controls that the non-MAF systems may not have. It's do-able I suppose, but it will take some homework.

Thanks. I'm not actually 100% sure on the year of the truck, but it was definitely mass air, the tube coming off the throttle body would've had a mass air meter on it, someone else took the meter, I managed to nab the air tube which I used for a cold air intake on my 84 Ford van. Turned out to be pretty nifty. Would those solenoids be for the emissions system by any chance? My speed density setup runs pretty good and I never put any of that stuff on it due to the fact that all I got was a harness, computer, and other necessary efi components when I did my swap. I wanted to keep it fairly simple.

I managed to locate a 4.9 mass air ecu on eBay and ordered it, should be here late this week. I used that motorcraft site and it worked out pretty good. Got the ecu for 60 bucks, might find a mass air meter off a junkyard 302 for temporary till I can buy a new one. I need to make an injector harness since it will be sequential efi not bank fire. I'm pretty good with soldering, so it should be a piece of cake. What's the pinout on ford's mass air meters?
