i have a leveling kit with 35" tires on the stock rims, i had to put on 1.5" wheel spacers for the tires not to rub on the leaf springs. i want to buy rims and get rid of the spacers but im having a hard time finding rims with the correct offset.
I can't recall the proper offset at the moment, but you need to get those spacers off ASAP! These trucks weigh in around 8000 lbs, and spacers in the front are dangerous. Discount tire can help you out with ordering the proper size offset.
I find wheel offset is a strange bird. it's supposed to be a simple calculation: rim center measurement minus backspace=offset, either (+) of (-), in millimeters of course. positive offset is like the newer F350 wheels, negative is like deep dish. But when I look at rim specs and try to do the math, it never "adds" up. So I don't know?
But I just put new rims (17X8) and new tires (33.8X11.5) on my leveled '02 F350. the wheels have a 4.5 inch backspace (which is pretty common) and the tires clear the leafs by 2" at full turn. So I could easily run 12.5"+ tires on these wheels with a 4.5" backspace. Hopes this helps you determine what wheels to buy. If you run a wider wheel, you will want less backspace (deeper dish).

they're Cragar Soft 8 steels. according to the manufacture's specs, the offset is zero. Which I guess is what I got when I measured them before I put the tires on. I think backspace is correctly measured from inside edge of the rim. But remember, true rim width is measured from inside the lip of the wheel, where the bead seats. It's not the total width edge to edge. The hard part was determining exactly where rim center is, so I kinda blew it off with some rough guesstimate. But in this case, the math made sense. Since the lip of the wheel is about 1/2 thick from the edge to where the bead seats, and the BS is 4.5", then it's 1/2" plus 4" to the rim center; 8" rims=4" center, so 4.5 minus 4.5=0 offset. By the way, the stock OEM rims were about 3.75" BS. not sure about the offset. No matter, the less offset you have, the further out the rim and tire will ride, therefore the wider the tire you can run without rubbing the leafs. So that's about all I know on this- i still find offset rather confusing. backspace I got!
