Rim offset - will these fit?

Wondering if these will fit the excursion without any wheel spacers?

I have an 03.

Set of 17" OEM rims for Ford F250 F350 SRW -- 8x170 | tires, rims | Calgary | Kijiji

I remember reading a thread about what Ford rims fit the Ex, but could not find it. Thanks.

I have been looking for rims as well and came across this craigslist ad. He says they came off a 2000 F250, so they should fit but they aren't like the rims mentioned in the other thread above. I dont think they are aftermarket with the Ford caps. Thoughts?

Nevermind, he removed the ad

The ad says 2005-2016, unless he removed it to edit that information in.

Anything up to 2004 fits our rigs fine. Anything post 2004 requires spacers to run them and have them fit properly. They can still bolt up, but you'll look like a railroad service pickup with the wheels sucked way deep into the wheel wells.

Will these fit on my 2000 Excursion 4wd? Guy wants 1100.00 but I can get them $$950. Assuming his truck is 2003 it has leafs leads and the only thing he had is level kit on his truck. Will I need to lift Ex?

"These tires are brand new I just bought them a week ago. Decided I wanted a bigger wheel so I have these sitting here. They come mounted on 16x8 rock crusher wheels that are painted black and in good shape. Lug pattern is 8x170 they were on my 03 F350. 1100 obo"

I'm trying to avoid lifting the Ex if possible my wife doesn't want to lift it. Also I need 4 new tires on it anyhow so I figured why not get these and if they fit without major lift mods then wife will accept some.

Not to be an *** or anything, but a tire size might be helpful. Wheel-wise, yep those should cooperate just fine so long as they aren't too far out of stock spec.

Also, Super Duty's sit on average 2" higher stock for stock compared to an Excursion, so that 2" level kit has his front end nearly 4" higher than your stock X.

Tire size is 315/75/16 I'm running oem 16" now

I was afraid of that on the level kit in comparison to his SD pickup and my Ex. So it's probably highly likely I'll need some kind of lift or suspension upgrade/mod to accomadate?

That size is the metric equivalent of a 35x12.50R16. Individual fitment may vary, some people claim to clear 35's stock and retain the entire turning radius (somehow... I don't know how), but the widely accepted size is I believe a 33".

On my old 16's I ran the same size, 315/75's, and I have a 4" lift. Here's a pic of my old setup

At full lock, it would rub the rears of the front springs and the tires were uncomfortably close to the wheel well liners and bumper. You can pull the liners back a good 1.5" or so if needed. Based off this picture, if the suspension was 4" lower (i.e., stock), the rear of the front fender would be IN the tread on anything other than flat and level ground IMO.

When I put my current wheels on (18x10), I went with the same basic size - 35x12.50. Due to the 10" width and -25mm backspace, I had to trim to trim the bumper corner back an inch as seen in this pic

Thank you fpr your feedback. Unfortunately it's not convincing me what is the issue it's my wife. She is simple and if something doesn't need to be replaced she won't. She is not the one who cares how it looks going down the road but rather the safety and functionality. More times than not we want our trucks lifted for the looks. I personally think a 4" lift and 35s would be sick just like above. If only i could convince my wife but since I need tires badly and probably by this weekend I can't really ask that of her. I may just need to approach it with a aggressive tires look but closer to stock size without messing with the geometry.

Stock suspension sucks and is woefully underspring for the platform. Safety angle. Super Duty springs offer a reasonable upgrade towards more stable handling (dial in 5° of caster via shims to really seal the deal), plus you'll net a couple inches in altitude. My 4" is V's with a 2" drop kit and B spring rears with the common mod done. Grab some X's and C's and you'll get a firmer, less meandering and blown shock ride quality which also translates to less roll and a more stable feel.

Safety angle.

It's not what you're doing but how you word it

Ah see I'll just show her your write up lol. It's funny right after I sent my last reply I was going to come back on and ask you all how do you convince your other half! Safety is a major a concern for us both. I mean let's be real here the Ex is our family truck which hauls her and me when I'm home and 4 of our wonderful kids. I would be damn if something happens to them because of negligence on the safety aspect.

Let me call Junior at ATS tomorrow before I buy new tires. I wanted to get full quote price on X and mod C's.

Thanks again.

My most recent quote from him for similar was just a hair under $950 shipped to Houston. X's and special mod-C's plus all hardware to mount.

Damn I really want that and we just got our taxes but here is my dilema.

4 new tires = $800- $1000 pending brand and style
alignment = $100 or less without any parts
Leafs ATS = $1000 give or take

My alignment is bad truck seems to not pull much when driving but my tires have defiantly shown abnormal wear. I'm thinking ball joints and Alignment is out of wack but will know today.

all in all I would be nearly $2000- $2500 at most dumped into it for new sneakers, springs, ball joints, alignment and anything else it may need. Quite possibly new shocks too.

if I had some extra I would even toss in hellwig rear sway bar.

With time I can do all work above such as installing springs, removing old ball joints just have shop press new ones in, shocks, hellwig sway bar, etc. I dont have time now as ill be gone for around 6 weeks. I dont want to wait that long to fix some of the issues especially tire wear.

Any ways long story short I have that kind of cash but wife is not gonna go that route. Let me see what I can dig up today and off to 4x4 shop to talk shop and get this truck fixed. Perhaps if I dont do all the talking and just show her the estimate she may go for it.

I'll post back later with what I did today to my X!!

I really hate pissing $ away knowing I can do the work but is my time sometimes worth the savings?? Or do I have time to wait. ****ty part is if I do alignment today and get new sneakers I would still need to wait on ATS to ship springs and by the time they get here I get them installed then I would need to check alignment again. Unless I can get a shop who would do alignment and then also warranty it but once you mess with the geometry of the suspension it's always encouraged if not wise to get it aligned.

Decisions decisions decisons....
