thank you for that. I will post them when I get a chance. I also need to find a Steering column for the 1991. Will the 1992 work or does the wiring change because one is 7.3 and the other is a 460?
So obviously i need a bed.... well I guess just as long as i take the Barbwire off i should be fine. lol . but body is very straight. so the tan truck behind is going to be the donor truck minus the steering column.
I KNEW THOSE WERE THE TRUCKS U WERE TALKING ABOUT!!!! I seen those on CL. LOL SWEET! Well I know where there is a really nice bed off of an '86. But you are probably wanting a bed off of an 87 or newer. Why cant you just take the beige bed off. Or are you keeping that truck too?
I will take the bed off the tan truck along with the front and rear axles. Other than that I think my buddy is going to take the 460. So the rest of the tan truck is going to be parts. fenders doors hood. that type of thing. Also the bummper that I had made for the Tan truck bolts up to the green truck so winch and bummper are coming over to the green truck. We go out to old hwy 51 and play back there. It is pretty fun.
That is a clean truck minus the missing axles. Wish i could find stuff like that around here. Anyway the 7.3 is great, i drove my 330,000 mile on home not driving it to get good gas mileage as i wasn't quite used to the throttle and did quite a few speed changes and got atleast 20mpg on the highway. Mind you this is a 2wd with 3.55 gears. Also a little bit of city driving in their too. With the e4od i can't say its slow.
On the manford side. Not sure I just follow. Lol. What light switch are you talking bout.
I am not sure what the tranny is in the 1991 but the guy I bougt it from in dallas said the tranny has less than 500 miles on it and the guy that had the work done couldn't pay for the service. So the tranny shop put an Leon on it and sold it at auction. I drove the truck around then up on the trailer and it has some punch to it for sure and 4x4 digs!!!!!!!. Can't wait to get it in the back country to see what I can pull out of the tractor killers. 40 foot by 12 foot dugouts bout 4 ft deep when full of water. Lol
O ok that mannford side. Gotcha! I have played in the sand dunes below the keystone dam. My g/f got a little upset with me. LOL That was ok, I had that ole Z71 rockin, boppin and a poppin boy. I think I cured her of ever going out w/me again...LOL That spot you are talking about sounds like alot of fun. I must get my clutch fixed so i can get check it out. No driving the dually out there....LOL But her tacoma is ready for some pond hopping for sure!!! LOL
FSTBL42, are you goign to swap over BOTH axles? You might be able to get away with just one because the gear ratio might be the same, if not...well...looks liek two axles are on the agenda. Whats the rear axle ratio? it will tell you on the door jamb if you dont know where to look, it gives a code then just look it up.
Aune I am going to change both axles one because it is not that much more work, two I know that they go together and three cause I just put new drum brakes on the back and figured why mess with them.
ADT when we go out there again (couple of weeks to a month or two) I will let you know. I have to get the thing running right and on the road street legal first. lol
Snap Thank you, the cab is in really good shape no rust and only one small quarter size ding on the front grill. Other than that it is in great shape. Cant wait to post pics when its done. I will still have many questions for yall though. thank you for the help so far.
