Fluctuating Idle
I have a 2003 F350 6.0 with 121K miles and have noticed when cold if I hold the throttle above idle it will drop 200~300 rpm every 3 to 5 seconds then jump back up. I have searched and found a lot of discussion about surging but most seems to be while driving. Will a bad ICP cause this symptom? Thanks in advance.

Yes the icp will cause it , and o3s are know have them go bad mine did same thing but i did have a light with the 2285 code. You need to have truck checked for codes , there can be code without a light.

I checked the codes and have none. I have the Edge Insight monitor. It has been doing it when cold for a while. I don't notice it or haven't really tried to see if it does it when up to temp. It has the run like crap when cold thing going on. I checked my FICM and it is at 48VDC all the time. I thnk it has the stiction issue but Im still not ruleing out the FICM. I have not had any injector codes or any codes for that matter. If I unplug the ICP will it smooth out? Is that how to diagnose if that is the problem? Thanks again. I a have had my '95 Powerstroke for about 7 years and got all the bugs worked out in it and it runs like a champ but for some reason I decided to buy the 6.0
I love my 2003 I just want to get it running right. I haven't sold my '95 yet so the 6.0 better get with it
