High Idle

My truck has a very high idle. I don't have a tach, but it seems to be around 1000 rpm. Is there a way to adjust the idle?

my trucks got a high idle too but only for a short period of time, i could be wrong here but iam sure its the ECT.

this is from the chilton manual

When the engine coolant is cold, the ECT sensor signal causes the pcm to provide enrichment to the air fuel ratio for a good cold drive away as engine coolant warms up.

Mine idles up to about 1000 too when it is really cold, but only for 30 seconds or so.

Mine idles up when it is cold, but then lowers to a constant 1000 rpm. I have read some articles about idling high when it is cold, but this seems a bit too high. After it warms up a bit the idle lowers, but only to about 1000 rpm (guessing).
