I have a 2011 F250 with Sync. Every time I start my truck it will connect my iPhone, that's good. But the problem I have is that it starts my iPod too. I don't want my iPod to start playing music in the background of my phone. Is there a way to turn this feature off? Either through the radio or the phone.
Not that I've found and this irks me as well. There is some kind of auto-start option in the radio, but obviously it doesn't apply to the phone. Heck, sometimes it even starts my Pandora Radio and starts pulling music. Not cool since I don't have an unlimited data plan.
I've found the quickest way to "fix" it is to quickly toggle between the media and radio button. This will stop it (that one time only).
Make sure the Pandora or iPod apps are not running on the iPhone when you get back in your truck, that way you have to tell sync to open the app to get the music to play.
Also having the apps not running all the time saves battery life.
I shut the iPod app every time I get out of the truck. I even shut it down sometime while I'm driving. I do have a jailbroken iPhone 4, so I have more options on shutting down apps and seeing if things are running. I think it is a problem with my phone and seeing the Bluetooth and starting the app rather then the truck doing anything.
