O2 sensor replacement need help bad!!!

OK 99 F150 O2 sensor is bad, got a new one from Auto Zone, also got the rental tool to remove it and the guy told me the replacement & old sensor were 7/8 a 22mm also was included with the loaner tool. So after applying a liberal amont of lubricant I put the 7/8 tool on and it turned so I thought it was coming out, turns out it is a 22mm and I rounded the sensor pretty bad. I got a pair of Vise Grips on but there isn't enough room to use them so I need help any & all suggestions are appreciated. I feel kinda dumb cause I didn't check before hand , I guess a lesson in trust is in order.
Thanks
Bobby

Since the sensor was or is now junk, I've used a small (8-10") pipe wrench . Check for swing room first with the wrench on the sensor, then try some rust penetrating oil, and let that soak in. The stuff I use is sold everywhere, and I think it's called something like PB Blaster, or something close to that. Yellow/white can.

If the oil doesn't work you may need to heat the sensor. Propane torch might do it, but works best with the "swirl Tip" (much hotter). Wear heavy gloves if you resort to heat.

I know everybody can't do it but heating the nut portion to a dull red will allow it to brake loose.
After rounding it's a tuff situation.
Good luck.

This is also a good part of why the sensor should be replaced every 80,000 - 100,000 miles, if they get left in too long, they seize in place and become very difficult (sometimes impossible) to remove without destroying either the port or the sensor. Since the sensor is toast, I second the pipe wrench, the harder you pull, the tighter it goes. If that and PB Blaster and heat can't get it loose, you might have to turn to a pro, but hopefully you wont have to go there, the pipe wrench is plenty powerful.
