'99 Expedition Drivetrain "bumping"?
My wife has a 1999 Expedition w/ 5.4 liter Triton and 4WD. It has been a really great vehicle up to now (has 178,000 miles). Lately it has developed a "bumping" feeling in the drivetrain when it is pulling up hills. If I disable the overdrive, it seems to help some, but it will still do it sometimes. It almost seems as if the tranny tries to shift down for a second, and then back up again. Has anybody else experienced this?
I cannot tell if it is in the transmission or somewhere else in the drivetrain like the differential.

My 99 Exp EB 2WD does something similar- especially around 50mph. Had all coils replaced last year. No CEL. Have read it may be issues with the tranny torque converter. Got 165,000mi on her and had no probs till now but this issue is aggrevating. Pls keep me updated
