Hey guys, my tranny started leaking pretty bad last night, here's what happened. I tried pulling out a tree and broke off two different straps before I called it good, I drove home about 25 minutes and noticed later that day a big puddle of ATF under my truck. It's coming out on the passenger side around the tranny pan gasket, I can't really see above it. The oil cooler lines look dry so I think that they are ok. I did some research and found out that when you get these trannys hot a seal on the converter will start to leak, but eventually seal back up.
So after finding that out I decided to look at it later, I let the truck sit over night and put about half a qt. in it today and drove it, well it still leaks and I think it is a little worse now. The truck drives and shifts fine still, so I think my tranny is still good.
Anyone ever had something like this happen? Or have any ideas on what to look for? It has 160,000 on it and never had the pan dropped for a gasket.
