well after many months trying to figure what to do about my 73 highboys registration i finally went to dmv to face the piper. my trucks last reg date was sometime in 99 and here in cali that can be a VERY expensive thing. ( wasn't on non op ) but to my surprise it had fallen off there radar so all i had to do was bring it in verify its vin and pay 157$!!!! bam new plates and new tags! man was i happy.

That's cool that you were able to get things done for pretty cheap. I kinda wish things would just fall off the radar after so many years. There are many decent project vehicles out there, but have no titles and to get a new one can take an act of God with some states DMVs. There should just be a classic/antique clause stating that if a vehicle hasn't been registered for so many years than the registration and title become null and void and a new owner can claim a vehicle and get issued a new title registration as long as nothing has been reported as stolen or a lein doesn't show up.
